about

hello!

iā€™m mya.

I am a fourth-year DePaul University student majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Visual Effects. Throughout high school, I created videos for my school broadcasting team. I learned how to use Adobe Premiere and After Effects during this time. Furthermore, I co-founded a coding club to promote the benefits of computer science and teach others how to code. During my first year at DePaul University, I was asked to join Dr. Umer Huzafia's human-centered robotic research team. I have since built a car robot with an Arduino Uno R3,  studied the walking gaits of the NAO Robot using Python and Choregraphe, and developed a module for the NAO that detects obstacles. At DePaul University, I have learned the fundamentals of cinema, studied film style and film history, and learned the basics of visual effects. Additionally, I learned data structures and computer systems in computer science and strengthened my skills in Python and Java. I look forward to expanding my portfolio throughout my college career as I explore technology and its use in visual effects.
